Missing/Black Blackberry HUB (After update, after security wipe)

Summary:
I was given the task to unlock 11 BlackBerry Z10s and 1 BlackBerry Q10.  Since my company offers cell unlocking service, I was happy to do so.  (BTW if you need unlock codes send me a note, Z10, Q10 from $20 for Telus users and $35 for most others, up to $50.00).   Out of the 12 phones I unlocked I lost the hub to a black screen/missing on only one device.  There was now an update 10.1.0.4181 and it was listed as 1024MB, when I clicked update it jumped to 2048MB!  Double the size.   
 
This is not a wide spread issue.  It seems that it only effects a few users, and if there is any indications of the 12 devices I unlocked and one faulted; although it is a very small sample, the issue is in less than 1%.
 
Symptoms: 
Swipe from left to right shows a black screen but can’t get/doesn't lock into the Hub "page".  The only way to get into Hub is by swiping up and then right then it will lock in to place, but just a black screen.
 
Symptom Replication: 
Unable to replicate as of yet
 
 Solution:
None.  This issue seems to be a problem with when update is interrupted during download or install.  Could be a fundamental file system issue or just a glitch better known as gremlins in the system.  J  Someone smarter than me has to find this out.
 
Workaround:
That worked for me:
1.       Install leaked version of OS 10.1.0.2354 (Pre 10.1.0.4181)
2.       Setup phone for first use.
3.       Update prompted me with update to 10.1.0.4181 and I tapped update
Everything works fine.
 
These did not work for me but has for other user with the similar problems (Listed in order of severity)

Proof of concept: 
If you have this problem, which seems to be very sporadic and minimal user are effected, then you will have your proof of concept when you try one of the above steps and it works.
 
Conclusion: 
It is also likely that the previous user was attempting to update and somehow corrupted the download process or the installation of the update.  Either way, I think this has something to do with an update not fully being installed.  Don’t know how I know this, just call it an educated guess without any illustrated (in this post) facts.

2.       Hold down power, volume + and volume – at the same time till you see red LED on top right corner and release
4.       Open BlackBerry Link.  Connect the BlackBerry 10 smartphone via USB cable. At the bottom of the BlackBerry Link window, click the computer tab. Select Settings. Under Reload Device Software, select Reload. Follow the on-screen instructions.
5.       Open BlackBerry Link.  Connect the BlackBerry 10 smartphone via USB cable. At the bottom of the BlackBerry Link window, click the arrow up next to Your device name (eg: BlackBerryF21F21) tab. Select Restore. Select Restore to factory settings on the top right of the screen. Click Restore, then follow the on-screen instructions.
6.       Open BlackBerry Link.  Connect the BlackBerry 10 smartphone via USB cable. At the bottom of the BlackBerry Link window, click the arrow up next to Your device name (eg: BlackBerryF21F21) tab. Select Restore. Select Restore from backup file on the top left of the new screen. Select the backup you would like to go back to. Click Restore, then follow the on-screen instructions.
